What are geocoding and address parsing?

Geocoding and address parsing help turn your location data into a map-ready format.

• Address parsing takes a full address and tries to split it into fields like Address line 1, City, Postal code, State / province, and Country
• Geocoding uses the location address to find map coordinates for the pin

These tools are especially useful after bulk imports, Google Sheets syncs, or when you update locations with incomplete address data.

Why am I seeing "Geocoding in progress"?

When the app shows Geocoding in progress on the Locations page, it means background jobs are still working through locations that need address parsing or coordinates.

This can happen after:

• a bulk import
• a Google Sheets sync
• manual updates to locations
• using the geocoding fix tool

While those jobs are running, newly imported or updated locations may keep changing until the background work finishes.

Where do I see geocoding status?

Step by step:

1. Open Locations.
2. Look at the banners at the top of the page.
3. If geocoding is still running, you will see Geocoding in progress.
4. If some jobs fail, you will see Geocoding failed for some locations.
